His men's doubles partner was Goh V Shem until late 2014. The two won their first Super Series title at the 2014 Malaysia Open. As of July 2014, the pair rank at No. 16 worldwide. As of September 2014, his current partner is Ow Yao Han. In 2015, Lim resigned from the Badminton Association of Malaysia.
