Marble is a free open source geographical map widget developed by KDE and open source community for use on personal computers running a Qt 4 compatible operating system. Marble is intended to be very flexible. It is planned to be able to run without hardware acceleration, start fairly quickly, and ships with a minimal dataset (5-10MB) that can be used offline. It can be extended to use OpenGL for rendering and use maps from online sources such as OpenStreetMap. Marble can also use kml files that are already used by Google Earth / maps.
