Marcial Cuquerella (born November 19, 1977 in Cartagena, Murcia) is a Spanish entrepreneur and civic leader. He is chairman and CEO of Gooru (before Wouzee and Wouzee America LLC) a live streaming and advertising video company [1] which he co-founded in 2013 as a small start-up. Cuquerella is also founder of The Glue Concept, a company incubator which operates in the USA, México and Spain.

Career

Cuquerella has two engineerings (Computing Engineer and Civil Engineer) and two MBA (IE and IESE), and began his career as a 24-year-old CEO Grupo Cope Navarra, then in 2005 he was appointed CEO of the Multimedia Company Intereconomía Corp, running three TV Stations, a radio, two magazines and a national newspaper in Spain.[2][3] He has funded and produced religious related films like Pope John Paul II [4]

During this 8 years, he founded [5] Wouzee, a start up [6] based on the live streaming concept,[7] which acquired relevance in February during the Princess Cristina Trials [8] when someone sneaked in a camera and broadcast everything, although the judge banned any recording devices in the chamber.[9][10][11][citation needed]

In April 2014 he founded Wouzee America LLC in Houston, Miami and Puebla (México).[12][13]

Controversy

In September 9, 2014, during an interview, on being asked for advice for young people looking for a job, he asid: "If you are looking for a job, do it for free a couple of months, if you are good enough you will get hired and even they will pay you those months".[14] This statement was broadcast by national media sites [15][16] and he was TT in Twitter. Next day Cuquerella released a press statement where he said that his only intention was to serve as inspiration, not to hurt any feelings.[17]

He has been accused by certain online sites of being a member of the political elite organisation Yunque.[18] and in January 2, 2011 he was pointed out as a leader of the "Spanish Tea Party" by the biggest Spanish and latam newspaper El Pais.[19]
