Mario Carotenuto (29 June 1915 – 14 April 1995) was an Italian actor of theatre and cinema.

Carotenuto, the son of an actor of silent films, got various jobs, even humble, for many years before starting his artistic career in 1946, first as a radio actor and then joining some small companies of avanspettacolo.[4] He made his film debut in 1950, in Abbiamo vinto, then he took part in dozens of films, often comedies, sometimes as leading actor.[4] He was also very active on stage and in television.[4]

He died in Rome in 1995. He was the younger brother of the actor Memmo Carotenuto.[4]
