Morro Bay High School is located in the City of Morro Bay on the coast of San Luis Obispo County, California. Students of the school are typically residents of Morro Bay and the neighboring town of Los Osos (6 miles away). The school consists of about 900 to 1000 students a year. The school is only a 1/4 mile from the Pacific Ocean.

Academic reputation

In 2011, Morro Bay High School had the highest average SAT score amongst all top high schools in the United States according to the 2011 Newsweek article titled "America's Best High Schools."[1] The average Morro Bay SAT test score of 2245 (out of a possible 2400) ranked in the top 1% of all SAT test scores nationwide.[2]

In 2006, Morro Bay High School was named a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.
