Nicolas Nemiri (born 3 January 1975, in Mulhouse, France) is a French comic book artist, known for an art style that has been influenced by French "bande-déssinée" (French comic books) and mostly manga and oriental art.
Early life and career
Born on 3 January 1975 in Mulhouse, France, Nemiri had a great passion for books, especially "bande-déssinée", with artists like Jean Giraud (and his art under the pseudonym "Moebius"), Hugo Pratt and André Franquin, he decided to attend the Beaux Art d'Angoulême art school for three years, during which he met and befriended Dominique Bertail and Marc Rigoux. However, at the age of 20, lived on small jobs and a few illustrations done for Japanese fashion magazines. Nemiri's mother sent a few of his sketches to Éditions Glénat in 1998. Author Jean-David Morvan offered Nemiri his first job and the two would go on working on numerous collaborations, such as "Je suis morte" or "Hyper l'hyppo" (2005).
