Nordøyan is an archipelago and fishing village in Nærøysund, Trøndelag, Norway.
History
In 1893, a pier was constructed.[1]
On 21 October 1962, the MS Sanct Svithun ran aground at Nordøyan lighthouse and 41 people died, in an event known as the Sinking of the Sanct Svithun .[2]
Geography
The village consists of three large islets Heimværet, Oddholmen, Surnøya and several smaller islets.[3]
Nordøyan Lighthouse is located in the village.[4] The lighthouse is located on Surnøya.[5]
