Øre is a village and former municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The village is located along the Batnfjorden in the present-day municipality of Gjemnes. The village lies about half-way between the villages of Batnfjordsøra and Torvikbukt. The Øre church is located here.[1]

The municipality of Øre was established on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). On 1 September 1882, a part of the municipality of Fredø (population: 40) was transferred to Øre. On 1 September 1893, the northern part of Øre (population: 226), was used to create the new municipality of Gjemnes. On 1 January 1965, the municipality of Øre ceased to exist when it was merged into Gjemnes (along with part of Tingvoll. Prior to the merger, Øre had a population of 1,565.[3]
