Petit-serif

Petit-serifs or petits-serifs are small serifs (petit is French for "small"), which are attached to regular sans-serif fonts.

An example of this is Johnston. Petit-serifs were added to this font, but Frank Pick chose to stay with the original design (later modified).[citation needed]
