Splash Kingdom Waterpark (formerly known as Pharaoh's Adventure Park)is a beach themed water park located in Redlands, California, United States. [1] Splash Kingdom is the largest water park in the Inland Empire. The park is known for having the world's tallest enclosed body-flume waterslide, and the world's tallest free-standing water slide tower. Splash Kingdom also has a Fun Park which includes three race cart tracks, bumper boats, and mini golf. The park also boasts a concert amphitheater, sports bar, and arcade. The park is currently closed undergoing a massive renovation to reopen in May.

Splash Kingdom features over 20 water slides. This includes the water play structure, kids slide area, two massive pools which include obstacles, and the Tower of Kings featuring eight high thrill water-slides. Pharaoh's also has a kiddie playground. The park has a rip tide where guests ride a static wave on a boogie board. The water park also includes two large swimming pools and a "Nile Endless River" where guests could float around in a big circle in rafts. park has the tallest freestanding water attraction tower in the country at 165 feet. Splash Kingdom also has a fun park. The fun park includes three race cart tracks, four mini-golf courses, and bumper boats. The fun park also includes a Fun Zone, which includes an arcade and inflatables.
[edit] Entertainment and food
For entertainment, Splash Kingdom has the 2,000 seat amphitheater to hold concerts. For food, it has a variety of food stands around the park including the Pyramid Cafe, The Johnsonville Grill, and the Grand Pizza Buffet which includes Egyptian themed dining rooms, large variety of pizza, pasta, beverages and deserts. The Grand Pizza Buffet closed in late 2011. Splash Kingdom will have all new food venues for the 2012 season.

Splash Kingdom recently opened the Upper Deck Sports Lounge, the venue has a complete bar, and lounge sections to accommodate any group size. The lounge has several couches and tables, an outdoor balcony with fire-pit tables and a bar, as well as three 35 foot HD screens, and one 50 foot HD screen in the Grand Pizza Buffet to watch sports. The Upper Deck has a variety of foods and appetizers.
[edit] 2006 Renovation
In 2006, with new operator, the park underwent 9 million dollar renovation. The park went for a more upscale feel, adding a 5-star restaurant, lounge and bar, new concert venue, granite counter tops in all of the bathrooms, and other small renovations. One year after these renovations, the park closed to the public and was used as a rave venue.
[edit] 2012 Expansion and Retheme
In 2011 Splash Kingdom announced that they would construct a 16,000 square foot wave pool for the 2012 season. This will be the largest wave pool in California. The massive pool will be built where the carnival rides used to be. This will be the largest and most expensive expansion to the park since its original opening. The renovation will include a 16,000 square foot wave pool, an activity lagoon, racing slides, new entrance plaza, rental cabanas, and shaded lounge chairs. The park closed in early 2012 to start construction for the expansion. As a part of this renovation, the park is phasing out the Egyptian theme and going towards a beach theme. The sphinx in front of the park will have sunglasses added to it.[2]
[edit] Ownership history
In 2006 Pharaoh's was a Joint Venture between the two men to develop the park in to Mix Use product by Shahvand Aryana at Aryana Management Group after being run for 10 years by the former owner James Braswell and park manager Tom G. Pharaoh's name was changed from Pharaoh's Lost Kingdom to Pharaoh's Theme And Water Park. Shahvand Aryana as had spent over 9 million dollars renovating the park and adding the Casablanca Restaurant.Under Aryana's management, the park started to deteriorate and was used as a rave venue, sparking controversy in the town.
Pharaohs reopened as a new entertainment venue on June 12, 2010. The name changed from Pharaoh's Theme and Water Park to Pharaoh's Adventure Park[3], a section of the arcade was transformed into a pizza buffet, the management team also is turning the amusement park section into a large wave pool. The race cart tracks(3), mini golf, and bumper boats as well as the all new Grand Pizza Buffet will still be open year round.
In 2011, Clearwater water park development entered a long term lease to take control of the park. The company is in the process of a multi-million dollar renovation including a 16,000 foot wave pool as well as other new attractions to the park. The company decided to close the Grand Pizza Buffet after only two years of operating to pursue another project. The company also changed the name from Pharaoh's Adventure Park to Splash Kingdom Water Park.
