Pyotr Petrovich Sokolov (Russian: Пётр Петрóвич Сóколов) (1821 – 14 October [O.S. 2 October] 1899) was a Russian painter and illustrator. The eldest son of the famous society portraitist Pyotr Fyodorovich Sokolov, he himself worked mainly on genre scenes from the life of the Russian peasantry and army. He also produced a series of fine illustrations for an edition of Turgenev's Sportsman's Sketches.[1]
