Rasheeda

Rasheeda is a female rap singer from Atlanta, Georgia.

Career

Rasheeda has been recording songs since 1995. She started out as a member of the teenage hip-hop trio Da Kaperz, which was signed to D-LO Entertainment and is still who Rasheeda is signed with to this day. When D-LO decided to launch her solo career they joined forces with Motown Records and released her solo first album Dirty South in 2001. The album contained the Dirty South anthem, “Do It (Do Da Damn Thang)”, with Pastor Troy. Her follow up was 2002’s A Ghetto Dream released independently through D-Lo Entertainment. That album featured collaborations with the superstars of crunk, Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz.

Georgia Peach, released in 2006, was her third album, and her second independent album. This album showcased the sexy side of Rasheeda. Her fourth album Dat Type of Girl, released in June 2007, has guest appearances from platinum artist, BABY, and mulitplatinum singer, Akon. The album also showcases some southern favorites, Pastor Troy, The Dream, Jazze Pha, Diamond and Princess of Crime mob, Fabo and Kandi. Rasheeda’s growth as an artist, person and strong independent woman was demonstrated on this album dominating the underground hip-hop scene with her sexy club bangers "My Bubble Gum", "Touch Ma Toes" and "Type of Gurl", while creating a national persona like no other female MC.

2007 - present

Rasheeda has joined with Atlanta-based American R&B singer/songwriter Kandi Burruss in forming the girl group Peach Candy in collaboration with D-Lo Entertainment, Don Vito Entertainment and Kandi Koated Entertainment. Rasheeda did a YouTube video called 'Certified Hot Chick' in 2008 where it showed her in a studio playing a clip of "Juicy Like A Peach", another un-named song in her car and she mentioned songs from the forthcoming album plus said "the peach candy album is coming very soon" but no further news or singles have been released from the project since this video apart from a video of her and her kids riding in a car rapping/singing along with a PeachCandy song "Let Ya Haters Me Ya Motivators"

Rasheeda appeared on the cover of SPATE Magazine in the June/July 2007 issue.[1] [2]

Rasheeda confirmed that she is to release her fifth studio album: "Certified Hot Chick" in 2009 via her myspace page, with the first official single being Let It Go.

In November 2008, Rasheeda released a 5 track digital EP called "Certified Hot Chick" onto iTunes[3] (in iTunes plus format). The EP includes single "Let It Go" plus 4 new tracks: "Boss Chick", "Juicy Like A Beach" (featuring Shawnna), "Where Ya Been?" and "Yeah". She has recently been putting up her catalogue on iTunes and so far has added "A Ghetto Dream" (2002 album), "GA Peach" (in explicit & clean with 5 exclusive bonus tracks: "Vibrate" (featuring 29 Boyz), "Chop 'Em Down" (featuring 29 Boyz), "Double Up" (featuring Dominque), "Let's Get To It (featuring KP & Envy- different song, not a remix of a song from "A Ghetto Dream") & "Spiffy" (featuring Akon)), "Dat Type Of Gurl" (clean with 3 exclusive bonus tracks: "Moving Too Fast", "Shawty" & "Here To Stay"), a clean version of the "Certified Hot Chick EP" and "Da Kaperz" (album of a group Rasheeda was in the 90's before she went solo)
