Rix Mills is an unincorporated community in Muskingum County, in the U.S. state of Ohio.

History

A former variant name was Rixville.[1] Rixville was laid out in 1854.[2] A post office called Rixs Mills was established in 1846, the name was changed to Rix Mills in 1892, and the post office closed in 1902.[3]

Notable person

Miles Conway Moore, 14th Governor of Washington Territory, was born at Rix Mills in 1845.[4]
