Rosa Schweninger
Rosa Schweninger (Vienna 1849–1918) was a well-known Austrian female artist of the late 19th century. She was a member of a famous Viennese family of artists, which included her father, Carl Schweninger.[1]
"She studied at the Vienna School of Applied Arts with Frederick Sturm from 1869 to 1871."[2] Her work includes portraits and florals.[3]
Her paintings were shown at the 1893 Chicago World's Fair & Exposition.[1]
The Zwei Lieder, op. 20, by Viennese composer Bertha von Brukenthal are dedicated to her. Schweninger's portrait of von Brukenthal is held by the Brukenthal National Museum in Sibiu, Romania.[4]
