Sportvereinigung Rapid Marburg, commonly referred to as SV Rapid Marburg or simply Rapid, was a football club from Maribor. The club was founded in 1919.[1] SV Rapid was formed by the Germanic part of Maribor's population, as the city had a strong German influence after the World War I.[1] The club was later renamed to Sportklub Rapid. It was the strongest football team in Maribor after the World War I.[1] They defeated I. SSK Maribor 5–0 in their first league game in the Ljubljana Subassociation League.[1] The second game was won by I. SSK Maribor 2–1.[1]
