The Sardinian Brook Salamander or Sardinian Mountain Newt (Euproctus platycephalus) is a species of salamander in the Salamandridae family. It is found only in Sardinia, Italy. Its natural habitats are temperate forests, temperate shrubland, Mediterranean-type shrubby vegetation, rivers, intermittent rivers, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marches, inland karsts, caves, and ponds. It is threatened by habitat loss.
