Shaker Junior High School is a public middle school (7th through 8th grade) in Latham, New York, near the state's capital of Albany. As of 2006, it enrolls a little over 900 students. Shaker Junior is part of the North Colonie Central Schools school district, which is consistently ranked as one of the top school districts in New York State. Shaker Junior High serves for a school for 7th and 8th grade students in the area. The Junior High's Building Principal is Dr. Russell Moore. The school is divided into 4 Halls: Houston, Norris, Calhoun, and Clay. Each hall functions as its own "mini-school" with its own classes for each subject, although the 4 halls to combine in certain classes and events such as lunch, band or orchestra, and assemblies. Shaker Junior has many sports to offer to their students.

The building principal is Dr. Russell Moore. The Houston and Norris Hall principal is Dawn Lange, and the Clay and Calhoun Hall principal is Michael Mitchell. This school is known for their wide selection of after-school activities as well as their numerous clubs and sports. About 900 students are enrolled in Shaker Junior High School. Also, some Regents Examinations courses are available, although not many students are in these classes, with the exception of foreign language.
