Siân (also Sian, Shân, Shahn; English: /ʃɑːn/ SHAHN, Welsh: [ʃaːn]) is a Welsh feminine given name, equivalent to the English Jane, Scottish Sheena or Irish Siobhán. It is ultimately derived from the Hebrew name יְהוֹחָנָן (Yəhôḥānān), meaning “Yahweh is merciful”.[1]
