Suns of Light are an American R&B boy band, originally known as the Boys.[1]

Originating from Carson, California, the Suns of Light are composed of brothers Khiry, Hakeem, Tajh and Bilal Abdulsamad. Their parents are Angela Satterwhite and Jabari Abdulsamad (formerly Brown).
"Khiry was that overbearing big brother borderline bully-ish kinda," stated Hakeem. "Hakeem has always been very creative though at times he was the type to throw temper tantrums," stated Bilal. "Tajh was a tattle-tail; he was not the favorite brother at all," stated Khiry. "Bilal was like our guinea pig cause he was the baby of the bunch," stated Tajh. "I was training them to be men at a young age," Jabari stated. Outside of home, Angie and Jabari kept them in a variety of activities. Their grandmother taught them singing, dancing, and acting. In the summer of 1984, ages 5 to 10 as "The Boys," the group put all that talent together and headed down to the Venice Beach port walk in hopes of earning money for a Father's Day gift. "I think that day we made like 60 bucks and then after that we took our dad up to dinner and so afterwards he asked us you guys wanna do this on a regular basis?" said Tajh. They said yes why not? First year they made about 12,000, second year they made 24,000 just in those 3 months. Eventually they started their own business called "The Boys Party Affair Rentals." They did parties, bar mitzvahs, weddings, etc. They also started doing TV shows like Gimme A Break.[1]
Their first single, "Dial My Heart" became an instant hit, charting at #1 and was soon followed by "Lucky Charm" which also reached #1 on the U.S. R&B chart. The album, produced by Babyface and L.A. Reid, was certified Platinum and peaked at #32 on the Billboard 200.[2]
Their fourth single "Crazy" became their third R&B #1 in the fall of 1990.
In 1992, production began on their third and final studio album, The Saga Continues. The album was a critical and commercial failure, reaching only #191 on the Billboard 200. In 1991 they performed Crazy.
