Written by the person themselves?[edit]

This whole article reads like the person wrote it themselves and is almost entirely unsourced. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.2.126.211 (talk) 09:57, 7 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV/so what?[edit]

"Body, Budgen, Gill, Gorman, Marlow, Shepherd, Taylor and Wilkinson - the 'whipless eight' were the original progenitors of Brexit. It could be claimed in contradiction of Enoch Powell's famous dictum - that their political careers did NOT end in failure". This is hardly NPOV, is entirely unsourced and is untrue. The Maastricht Rebels were not the progenitors of Brexit. UKIP was founded two years before the Maastricht rebellion and when the European Communities referendum was held all the way back in '75, the majority of the Conservative Party, led by Thatcher, who "Could never have signed this treaty," voted for the Common Market, while Labour leftists such as Benn, Castle and Foot were deathly opposed. Some right-wing propagandist is trying to whitewash history. 98.10.165.90 (talk) 01:54, 17 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wife drowned[edit]

Didn't his wife drown in front of him on holiday? Obviously a personal tragedy which you wouldn't wish on anybody. Or am I mixing him up with somebody else?Paulturtle (talk) 15:14, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
