History

[edit]

Does anybody know where this song came from? I'm (well) over 30 and I don't recall ever hearing it as a child. A quick ask around the office found the early-20-somethings all knew it. Just wondering? - 151.204.156.72 20:29, 1 December 2005

I'm 22, and I've never heard of it before either. -- Hellmark 03:07, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
33, and I don't think I ever heard it before it showed up on an episode of The Big Band Theory.. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.9.142.231 (talk) 03:33, 25 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Grammar: have/got

[edit]

It'd be good if the last line of the chant was changed to "Now I've got my cootie shot" or "Now I have my cootie shot" to make it grammatically correct, but I'm not sure which is [closer to] what's actually said. It seems important to have correct grammar; children aren't trying to use sloppy grammar because it lends anything to the chant, it would just be the result of undeveloped language skills. —midg3t 09:59, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
