Name of the world tour[edit]

In an interview with Clash Music last summer, Dave Gahan said that the next tour will extend to summer of 2014, i.e. apparently there are plans for several legs on different continents, just like before. It's "Tour 2013" in the first sales posters, for the first 35+ summer dates. I don't think there should be several articles on Wikipedia on practically the same world tour, so the article should have a different name to cover the whole tour. In addition, I'm not happy with naming the article merely "Tour 2013". In no time at all, I presume it has to be renamed "Tour 2013 (Depeche Mode tour)" anyway, to avoid ambiguity. --Sk4170 (talk) 18:54, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Adding a review is not giving it undue weight[edit]

Reviews are commonly included in tour pages. Here are some examples of tour pages that include reviews. If you strike the first review added claiming that it's giving it undue weight, you will never be allowed to add any reviews.

This tour is notable, and has been reviewed. They should be included here. If you don't like that this wasn't a positive review, I encourage you to find some and add them!

Thank you for responding at talk page, and not in the edit summary. I find it quite inappropriate that you suggest that not agreeing with the review was my reason for the removal. It doesn't matter whether a review is good or bad, just that only one review doesn't meet the requirement of representing multiple views. I also want to remind you that, looking at all Depeche Mode tour articles here on Wikipedia, the review section is your creation, and, from the top of my head, the only one. That you choose to support your views by tours from four major mainstream mega artists who get incredible amount of coverage on high-profile publications everywhere they go is pretty interesting. It's like comparing the size of Stasi and NSA archives. Depeche Mode is not in the same league. Madonna/U2/Gaga/Bowie always get the front page, not Depeche. For example, on the previous tour, there were places in Britain where I couldn't find any reviews online after the gig, not even short mentions in a side-note, not to mention in-depth well-thought detailed reviews. That would never happen to the big four you chose. More importantly, those four have legions of dedicated editors on Wikipedia, resulting in comprehensive, good quality articles. It's not the same with Depeche Mode. It is not impossible that your review section consisting of only one review would also remain as such, and the end result would be 'undue weight' that should be avoided. I give you a challenge to add more good quality reviews to the section, as it is your baby. You can do it, I'm sure, but please don't leave it like this and expect it will grow all by itself to even remotely resemble the ones written about Bowie tours. --Sk4170 (talk) 11:22, 15 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I actually assumed that it would be easy to find reviews of the current Depeche tour... In looking around Wikipedia, I found a strong bias towards reviews in more recent tours (in the past few years) - very few older tours have any critical reception sections at all, even for major artists like the Rolling Stones. I totally understand that the one review we have (and not a very positive at that) is probably not representative of every review, and I'll continue to look for one ones, but please understand it cannot be my burden alone. Perhaps (since the tour is underway) there's an appropriate tag we could put in the section to reflect that it's a short but growing list, so as to address the WP:UNDO concern? Adding a tag is a good idea. It surely would at least make editors to stop and reconsider before hitting undo. For me it's enough to know that you keep looking, instead of just leaving it like this, and I'll keep my eyes peeled, too. Having a good review section would definitely be an improvement. Perhaps there's a chance for doing it for some other tours, too. I recall, again from the top off my head, some reviews from Singles tour, as it ignited more interest after Dave's struggles.
