Footnote policy The article states that the so-called footnote policy was a phenomenon of the 1970s, and a result of the Social Democratic views on military intervention. To the best of my knowledge, the footnote policy was the the outcome of the Schlüter governments in the 1980s consisting of a coalition of a number of parties, amongst others the Radikale Venstre. While the Radikale did support Danish NATO membership, they did not condone what they viewed as military aggression from NATO, and therefor they would not allow the Danish foreign minister to back such acts up in NATO. This then led to such NATO acts to be equipped with footnotes, that stated that Denmark did not support this particular act.

Amazingly enough, I can not be bothered with looking up sources for my own understanding, or the one given in the article. Therefor i will only change the article if you guys agree with my understanding (or even better - provide sources that back it up). Harald ss (talk) 19:19, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
