Talk:Evolved HSPA
"The flat architecture of evolved HSPA collapses RNC functionalities into the BTS as defined by 3GPP TR25.999. [1] 3GPP Rel-7 also flattens the Packet Core as defined by the Direct Tunnel approach. Combining the flat RAN and flat Packet Core into an all flat HSPA architecture is identical to the LTE/SAE flat architecture as defined by 3GPP Rel-8. This enables smooth evolution from HSPA evolution to LTE/SAE."
Is any part of that in English? Maury 17:56, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
Tried to clarify a little, to be less 3GPP jargon. Porttikivi 08:43, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
Should definiterly be merged with Internet HSPA, HSPA+ and I-HSPA. Porttikivi 08:01, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
Well, I did. Porttikivi 08:44, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
Well, after really checking the 3GPP doc first time ;-) it looks like the control plane still needs the RNC. So the article as now is somewhat not very precise, but not exactly wrong. Porttikivi 07:32, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
Fixed that phrasing. Later, also tidied up the references. Porttikivi —The preceding signed but undated comment was added at 09:26, August 24, 2007 (UTC).
" *On 23 March 2009, Austrian mobile operator A1 - mobilkom austria started the first commercial HSPA+ Network in europe. GSMA attested "first commercial lauch in europe". [1]" that's not true. Portugal has HSPA+ since 2007 commercially available in all country for the consumer market from 3 major operators.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.39.92.31 (talk)
[edit] Compatibility?
A section on compatibility would be useful- for example, are HSPA phones compatible with HSPA+ networks (and vice-versa). --Catran31 (talk) 21:23, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
I came to this page to get an idea of what HSPA is. I am still confused. 206.225.103.114 (talk) 19:37, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
So I take it that HSPA and HSPA+ are used to surf the Internet? Or are they used for talking? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jksfitz (talk • contribs) 19:31, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
This is a perfectly fine article, as jargon-free as it is possible to be, that refers both to HSPA and LTE. The criticism is childish and nit-picking. TorquilA (talk) 19:16, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
Is there still a concensus that the article is too technical after the latest modifications? If it is not too technical, should we remove the almost 4 year old note about the tecnicality? Nasula (talk) 10:23, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
[edit] Croatian operator Tele2...
"Croatian operator Tele2 announced that the 21 Mbit/s HSPA+ will be available around the beginning of December 2010" Tele2 is a Swedish operator, it's available in Croatia but it's still not a Croatian operator. 84.23.144.179 (talk) 20:45, 5 February 2012 (UTC)
