Purist definition (June 2023)

On the 24th of June 2022, and close to a year later on the 20th of June 2023 there have been several edits mentioning a "purist" definition of the Explorer's Grand Slam. All of these go unsourced and there is no information to be found about it online as to who came up with it nor are there any official rankings or achievements on major explorer's tracking sites.

It seems a bit off to mention it as a separate category on the page itself, at least until people can add sources as to what figures of authority deem it to be so. 217.117.224.218 (talk) 15:10, 23 June 2023 (UTC)

Megan McGrath

Megan McGrath of Canada has made it to all seven summits (both defenitions) as well as to the North Pole. By October 2010, she plans not only to reach the SouthPole, giving her a Grand Slam, but plans to become the second True Grand Slammer in history by completing the 8000er peaks challenge.[1] Is it worthy to note this challenge? -- Zblewski|talk  00:04, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Horacio Galanti (May 2018)

This is the second time Mr. Galanti had to be removed. He did not complete the necessary tasks to qualify being listed on this page. The Explorers Grand Slam means an individual must accomplish the Seven Summits plus (at a minimum - the last degree of) the North and South Poles. The website that Mr. Galanti's name was linked to on this page proved he did not meet the criteria of the North Pole. He only completed the running of a 42.2 KM marathon with the finish line at 90 degree North. To qualify for this list, he also needed to ski the last agree to the North Pole and South Pole, completing 111 KM. No individual should be listed on this page if he or she only completed 42.2 KM, rather than the 111 KM requirement. Everyone on this list completed 111 KM.
