2006 suggestions

[edit]

There would also be value in discussing float from a micro-economic perspective.

Individuals or institutions who act as intermediaries to a financial transaction can profit from control of funds.

This stub would be more balanced if it also noted that the cost incurred by intital and final parties from loss of control of funds during the period of delay between origination and complettion of a financial transaction is offset by the profit realized by intermediaries from the use of funds under their control. Paypay, Western Union, USPO money orders, etc. can be the basis for examples of the profit motive for extending float in financial transactions.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.105.102.35 (talkcontribs) — Preceding undated comment added 17:21, 26 July 2006‎

Another use

[edit]

Float in money also could refer to the cash drawer level such as having $300 a drawer for making change that is keep at all times (unless the store does returns at the store level then can it go below the float level). 68.48.113.58 (talk) 11:59, 22 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
