Name
[edit]"When he began his career in 1979, he used the name "Gaz Top", a name he earned whilst working as a roadie for The Alarm."
The Alarm did not exist - under that name at least - until 1981. Date or details are wrong. MongogramForCandy (talk) 17:37, 7 March 2020 (UTC)
Clearly editing his own entry
[edit]Oh for shame. This really isn't want you're supposed to do, as Wiki has to keep on reminding people. Gareth has been making changes under the user name of HPE2000ie. If you check this user's contributions, it's as clear as day what he's been getting up to.
Assessing Notability
[edit]After adding references to establish notability, I'll now try to check it meets Wikipedia's Notability guideline for people, referring to the Basic criteria 1 to 3 here:
As a bare minimum, all of the following criteria must be met in order for a person to be deemed notable:
- The article states he is "a noted[1] Welsh language (Cymraeg) speaker." and gives two independent references:
- therightaddress.co.uk, a speaker bureaux which itself is listed as a member in the International Association of Speaker Bureaux; Secondary source? Yes. Reliable? Who knows? IASB lists many member agencies worldwide, some 100 in the US alone such as the Californian Creative Artists Agency
- the BBC which gives a short biography. Secondary source? Yes. Reliable? You decide
- Is the Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons policy followed? Yes. Two claims need citing but do not seem negative: that he now presents motorsport and that he lives with his partner with their two children (which is however supported by the primary source)
- subject of published secondary sources that are reliable? Substantial coverage? Borderline?
- the BBC a reliable source? I believe so. However depth of coverage is not substantial, only 4 paragraphs
- the right address a reliable source? Hard to say, their other profiles that I recognize *look* Ok, but it gives only one paragraph
- gamesindustry.biz appears independent but gives only one paragraph
