Ambiguous name

[edit]

To the layman, this article's name does not refer unambiguously to the pre-decimal halfpenny, so it should be renamed. I've started a discussion at WikiProject Numismatics on the subject - please post your comments there. Hairy Dude 22:31, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Halfpenny-1957-front.jpg

[edit]

Image:Halfpenny-1957-front.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

'Utterance'

[edit]

I changed one usage of the word 'utterance' into 'issuance', only to find that the former is, indeed, a technical sort of term. But it's an odd usage, and perhaps not appropriate for Wikipedia? If you want to put it back, I defer to your opinion.

Copied

[edit]

I get the feeling that this page has been copied word for word from some source. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.238.107.110 (talk) 04:29, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reference in song.

[edit]

A popular Victorian Music Hall song advised young women who valued their reputations when going with young men to "Keep your hand on your hay`pnee and you will come to no harm" 94.197.158.199 (talk) 21:56, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Need of Infobox?

[edit]

Does this page require an infobox? The modern Pre-decimal half-penny is not seen on this page, so I think it may be necessary to enlist a template. Remember that I do not mean the Modern Half-Penny. SmartOneK (talk) 04:40, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The next coin is ...

[edit]

I deleted a similar sentence from the bottom of the farthing entry. This type of lead in to the next section might have been appropriate in the original source, but I don't think it is needed in Wikipedia. BillyPreset (talk) 19:14, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
