Linda Young Can’t edit her own page

[edit]

I follow Linda Young on social Media and I’ve met her in person before and I saw a X/Twitter post of her screen capping she was banned from editing her own page? Is it against the rules for celebrities to edit their own page. The link to the post is here. https://x.com/lindayoungva/status/1737118389079003565?s=46&t=7AEBl3VghBqPYzC1s1JNSg Grindor (talk) 16:04, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

People with a conflict of interests to the subject should generally not edit the page directly. However, she can make edit requests on the talk page. As for why the account was blocked, it is a standard practice for accounts whose name matches that of a real person as a precaution against impersonators. If she wants it to get unblocked with the same username, she should follow the advice on her talk page: please send an email to info-enwikimedia.org including your real name and your Wikipedia username to receive instructions from our volunteer response team about account verification. Please do not send documentation without being requested to do so. Link20XX (talk) 16:38, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
