Merger proposal
[edit]I propose that Village Community School (Normanton) be merged into this page. There is some valuable information there, but I did some searching online and couldn't find any info about the school except the fact that it once existed, which seems to fail WP:NHS. Additionally, this article is unsourced and I haven't been able to find the information to back it up. It seems like original research. —JmaJeremyTALKCONTRIBS 03:22, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
- Support: The article Village Community School (Normanton) is not really about the school; it is about the block of land on which the school once resided, and the new building that was erected on that block of land in 2008, and the schools which were merged in order to occupy the new building. I suspect the Village Community School is no longer sufficiently notable to warrant its own article on Wikipedia. Dolphin (t) 23:14, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose Merger would add no value nor resolve the current deficiencies as merger just moves material from one page to another. What's required is more content. Warden (talk) 09:58, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
- Support It's a general rule of thumb that primary schools are not usually notable enough to get their own article, although I'd admit that 570 pupils makes it less unnotable than most primary schools. Generally it just "works" better to have 1-2 paragraphs about education in a locality that includes mention of the primary schools.Le Deluge (talk) 00:29, 4 November 2014 (UTC)
