Censored in Italy?[edit]

It could be the case of the French dub, but I assure you I saw all the series aired only on 7 Gold (RAI is too damn a Vatican slave to air such an anime) and this is confirmed by the italian site linked in this page (I checked it to be sure there were no extra or however unaired episodes)... 84.220.119.29 21:31, 11 March 2007 (UTC)Third[reply]

Based on the Tale of Genji?[edit]

Where did that come from? The tale of Genji is mentioned in the anime but it isn't based on it.

I believe this is a reference to the "recap" episodes. You can see them listed on the Anime News Network database under the "Comment" section. ANN entry There it lists:

Manga Dates?[edit]

Are the dates for the manga correct? "1975-1975" seems a odd phrasing, and 3 vol may be a bit much for less than one year (although not uncommon). CFLeon (talk) 08:30, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Greek dub, cut after two and a half episodes[edit]

According to a comment in this blog, a greek version was broadcasted at one point in the early 90's lasting for two and half episodes

"Για πιό παλιές ιστορίες που πέρασαν απαρατήρητες: Δεκαετία '90 που ήτανε της μοδός τα ιαπωνικά κινούμενα, ξεκίνησεν η ΕΡΤ (ή η ΥΕΝΕΔ, δε θυμάμαι) να παίξει την όχι ιδιαιτέρως γνωστή σειρά Oniisama-e. Η σειρά κόπηκε στη μέση του τρίτου επεισοδίου. Γιατί; Διαβάστε στο Wikipedia. Σημείωση: Σε κάποιες αραβικές χώρες, η σειρά παίχτηκε κανονικά."

(translation) "For older stories who moved away without much attention: Early 90's when the japanese anime were broadcasted, ERT (or YENED, cannot recall) started broadcasting the not so well known anime series Oniisama-e. The broadcast was cut in the half on the third episode. Why? Read it on Wikipedia. Sidenote: In a few arabic countries, the anime was broadcasted normally."

Another comment in this site http://www.animeplanet.gr/1056_onii-sama_e.html "μου άρεσε πάρα μα πάρα πολύ. την έβλεπα και στην ετ2." "I liked it so so much. Used to watch it in ET2" suggests that the series was broadcasted in ET2, which is basically EYNED after joining the ERT national network

Also, knowing the greek dubs of that time, they probably bought the broadcast rights from France (the case for lots of anime series from that time). It is not said or implied that Kaoru recovered from cancer[edit]

"In the anime, she recovers from her cancer and gives birth to a child at the end of the series". In the animation version, two years after her departure to Germany, Nanako got a letter from her. A picture was included in which Kaoru is happily holding a baby. All that Nanako said about the incidence was "I got a lovely news from Germany". The lovely news was probably the baby, but we do not know if Kaoru recovered from the cancer or not. The doctor had said that she would survive the cancer if the cancer does not re-emerge within 5 years. At the time of the picture, 3 years had passed from the doctor's statement. There still was enough time for the cancer to comeback. She could have died of cancer 1 or 2 years after the picture. Sin Jeong-hun (talk) 21:11, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
