  • B1359+154QSO B1359+154 — B1359+154 is just a set of coordinates, it refers to EVERYTHING or ANYTHING at that point in the sky. To indicate the quasar, it should be prefixed with "QSO", like at [1] --70.51.9.191 (talk) 09:13, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

  • Comment - I've no view either way, but surely the overwhelming guideline here should be WP:COMMONNAME - if people normally understand that a reference to "that bit of sky" means the quasar, then the article title should not include QSO. How do other quasar articles handle it? FlagSteward (talk) 14:22, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • Other quasar articles use the "QSO" prefix, or would be Qxxxx+/-yyy where the xxxx+/-yyy are understood to be B1950.0 coordinates. So in reference to this article, it would be "Q1359+154" or "QSO B1359+154". And the most common referrant at this sky location is the entire complex of quasar + lensing galaxies, not just the quasar itself. 70.51.8.196 (talk) 07:21, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
