Robert Keith Rous is not the eldest son. John Rous, owner of Clovelly and director of its Estate Company, was born in 1950 and is also a son of the 5th Earl of Stradbroke. I can't find any sources on this but I know it's true as I am local and have worked for him!
- The 6th Earl (b. 1937) is the elder son of the late 5th Earl (1907-1983) by his first wife (the younger son was the late Colonel the Hon. Sir William Rous (1939-1999)). The Hon. John Rous (b. 1950) is the only son of the 5th Earl by his second wife, and so the 6th Earl's younger half-brother. The current heir, Robert, Viscount Dunwich (b. 1961), is the eldest of eight sons of the 6th Earl. Proteus (Talk) 17:03, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
