Robert Blackborne[edit]

This list is missing Robert Blackborne, who was Secretary to the Admiralty and later Secretary to the British East India Company.[1] I'm still hunting for the dates of Blackborne's service. If there are any editors who are familiar with the terms of office of the Secretaries, please feel free to add Blackborne's tenure. Thanks. Blackborne was a Puritan during a least part of his life, and he served as Secretary during the Interregnum.[2][3][4] He was also considered a Fifth Monarchist. By 1684, his term as Secretary to the Admiralty over, Blackborne was listed as an Adventurer in the East India Company.[5] He went on to become its Secretary.[6] Today Blackborne is remembered, if at all, as the man who introduced his nephew William Hewer to Blackborne's friend Samuel Pepys. Minor typo edit[edit]

From the sentence in the History paragraph formerly reading "In 1930, the Parliamentary and Financial Secretary served dully as Civil Lord to the Board of Admiralty ", I removed the word "dully" as either typo or peculiar opinion. Assumed typo. Considered "served duly" or "duly served" or "served duty" but concluded simple removal made more sense. Random noter (talk) 00:49, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
