I don't think it's notable or interesting at all. Movies or TV series using a given song generally are; background music for the local forecasts is as generic as telling us what was playing at a certain Starbucks or Panera. Faulty Transcription

I must complain about the transcription of the head. If the G-clef voices have a whole rest in the first bar, they also require a half rest for beat 1 and 2 in the second bar. In addition, the first bar bassline does not add to four because there is an eighth rest before the first note, which is missing in this 'transcription'. Every bar must add up to four! Two mistakes in two bars is not acceptable.

I don't have the chops to contribute to this wiki but if those of you with the proper expertise could mention Eddie Jefferson's Vocalese rendition in the "Renditions" section, I think that would be appropriate. Composer Credit

'Both pieces originate in...'

I don't recognise this statement: 'Both pieces originate in Ahmad Jamal's 1955 cover of Morton Gould's "Pavanne"'. It is true to say that "Impressions" is based on "So What" (but Coltrane's tune is quicker and has a different head). There's absolutely no basis for Ahmad Jamal's version of Pavanne being the germ of 'So What' though (listen to it if you think I am wrong). Can someone tell me what Mr. Crouch is actually saying here? Otherwise, I will be removing this since it seems to be erratic scholarship at best. Knucmo2 (talk) 22:29, 7 February 2022 (UTC)
