Tighenif (formerly known as Palikao) is a town in Mascara Province; western Algeria.

- Ternifine or Tighenif is the site of what is thought to be the earliest/oldest fossilised bones of humans in North Africa, called the man of Ternifine[1].
- Charles Guillaume Marie Appollinaire Antoine Cousin Montauban, comte de Palikao is a famous person associated with Tighenif.
