Tom Kapinos is an American television executive producer and screenwriter best known for his creation of the television series Californication.

After beginning his career in television in 1998 as a screenwriter and the executive producer on drama series Dawson's Creek, Kapinos moved onto his own series, Californication, a twelve-part dramedy for which he served as both executive producer and chief screenwriter. The series aired in 2007 from August to October, and has been renewed for a second season.
