Tritek® Technologies, Inc. was founded in 1984 by inventor and innovator James Malatesta as a technology development company for mailing solutions.[1] Headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, Tritek® specializes in custom builds and services of mail processing equipment and imaging systems.[2] Tritek® holds a number of patents in sorting and processing of mail and other flat parcels.[3]
History
Tritek®'s sister company, Independent Computer Services (ICS), was established as a mail sorting machine service company for Canadian-based Leigh Marsland Mail Sorting Equipment in 1981.[4] In 1984, ICS purchased the worldwide rights to Leigh Mail Sorting Technology.
In 1988, Tritek® introduced the first multi-font programmable optical reader for mail processing machines. Tritek® developed first high-speed flat sorter in 1991 and named it the 91-5 Ultrasorter which was tested by the United States Postal Service under their development project called SBCR as a high speed flats sorter replacement. Tehcnologies of that machine are still in use today as licensed technology from Tritek®.
Tritek® provides machinery and services to JP Morgan Chase Bank, automating their return mail as well as Washington State vote-by-mail.
Tritek®’s assembly plant and return mail processing facility is currently located in Wilmington, DE. Tritek is a global company with products and services to many European countries in addition to Fortune 500 companies and many US government postal operations.
