1 Joshua Dawson 1 April 1952 11 September 1963 Dawson was the first ever First Minister and was appointed after the General Administration Act 1952 was passed in the Council of Bishops. He continued to wield his power from 1952 until 1963 were he was challenged by his opponent Colin Bruce and lost the leadership election. Donald Todd
Gerard McFadden
2 Colin Bruce 24 September 1963 29 May 1970 Bruce was popular at the beginning of his office. Though as he spent longer in the office he became more authoritarian and began prosecuting other religious figures for foolish crimes. He was removed from his office in 1970 by Cardinal Gerard McFadden.
3 Martin Jacobson 30 May 1970 14 June 1994 Jacobson was a loyal supporter of McFadden and was hugely popular among the population. He led to the development of the Irish Road System, Irish Healthcare Reform and he led against the corruption within the church. He died in 1994 due to complications with surgery. He was aged 77 when he died. He is also the longest serving First Minister serving 24 years continuously.
