Usman Ibrahim (Urdu: عثمان ابراہیم; born 1 September 1939) is a Pakistani politician who currently serving as junior minister without any profoto in Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's Cabinet.

Early life and education

He was born on 1 September 1939.[1]

He got his education from Gujranwala. He did his B.A from G.C. University, Lahore, and then Bachelor of Laws from University Law College, Lahore. He then moved to Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn and did his Barrister-at-Law.[citation needed]

Political career

He had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from 1985 to 1999, and held the portfolio of Minister of Education of Punjab from 1990 to 1993.[2][3]

He ran for the seat of National Assembly of Pakistan from Constituency NA-95 for the first time in Pakistani general election, 2002, but couldn't win it.[4]

He was elected as the member of the National Assembly for the first time in Pakistani general election, 2008 from constituency NA-95 on PML-N ticket.[5][6][7][8]

He was elected as the member of the National Assembly on PML-N ticket for the second time in Pakistani general election, 2013 from constituency NA-95.[9][10]

In June 2013, he was appointed as the Minister of State for Housing and Works in the Nawaz Sharif cabinet.[11][12]

Ibrahim was made the state minister for Capital Administration and Development Division and was replaced by Tariq Fazal Chaudhry in November 2015 due to reason government was not satisfied with the performance of Ibrahim.[13] He continued to serve as state minister without portfolio.[14]
