Vittoriosa Stars Football Club are a Maltese football club from the town of Birgu, which currently plays in the Maltese First Division.
History
Vittoriosa Stars they don't care about the children and teens that are from Birgu they don't want to give them any chances to play. That's why players want to leave.
Season 2011/12
The club is taking part in the BOV 1st Division of the Malta Football Association.
This season 2011/12 the club of Vittoriosa Stars invested in promising youngsters where big transfers were done. The policy is that no more loans of players but permanent transfers. `The season started with manager Mr Joe Brincat but before the end of the 1st round he was sacked due to negative results. The new manager was Mr Olivier Spiteri. He was assisted by Mr Stefano Grima, Stephen Calleja and Mr Alex Camilleri. In the 2 round the team did a record of 11 unbeaten games (all the 2nd round) with 6 consecutive wins.
Vittoriosa Stars main rivals are neighbours St Georges FC. In the first round the result was 0-0 but in the 2nd round the Stars won 4-2 goals by Marcelo Perreira x 3 and Leighton Grech.
Marcelo Perreira won the 1st Division top scorer and also was voted as the second best player in the 1st Division.
Season 2012/13
On 21 May 2012 the club announced that defender Luke Vella Critien, Scottish midfielder Gary Muir and Brazilian striker Marcelo Perreria extended their contract with the club for another year.
In the end of June 2012 the club announced the signings of Malta Youths International Samir Arab Palmier and Siraj Arab Palmier on loan from Malta champions Valletta FC. Later, the club also signed Malta under 21 international striker Lydon Micallef on loan from Balzan and midfielder Sheldon Grech who signed a 2-year contract deal.
Team Captain and star Lucas Ramon Dos Santos signed a 3 year deal from Valletta FC in mid June. This was a very big transfer when you consider that Dos Santos rejected Premier clubs offers.
On 6 July the Club announced that the new assistant coach is Mr Jean Paul Desira.
After a long and fought season Vittoriosa Stars won the Promotion to Premier Division when they finished in the first place together with Naxxar Lions with Marcelo Pereira as a top scorer of the Club.
The 2012/13 season was a memorable one for the club after the Under 19 team won the Section D Championship and the futsal team winning the Promotion to 1st Division.

Technical Staff leaded by Mr Oliver Spiteri sealed another contract with the club.
On the 27th June the Club announced that Brazilian striker Marcelo Perreira, Luke Vella Critien and Malcolm Buttigieg signed another contract with the Club.
National teams
Malta first competitive international game vs Austria is also connected with this glorious club.The Malta national team during that game played with Vittoriosa Stars kits as they were red shirts.
During these past seasons a few Vittoriosa Stars FC players were called up with the Under 21 National team. These players were Henry Bonello, Beppe Muscat, Jonathan Xerri, Jean Matthias Vella and Leighton Grech.
In the 1980s ex-Vittoriosa Stars players like Dennis Mizzi, Joe Cammileri, Martin Scicluna and Bertu Mizzi played with Malta National team.
Late Nazio Grima, Vittoriosa's Stars masseur during the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s also was part of the national team medical staff.
During 2012/13 Season Vittoriosa Stars players Jean Matthias Vella, Matthew Tabone and Lydon Micallef played for the Under 21 National Team.
