Windburn
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Wind burn)
Windburn is a common term for sunburn accelerated by the effects of wind removing the UV-filtering thin layer of lipids[1] from the skin and irritation caused by the wind. Although colloquially named 'windburn', scientists discovered that the condition is, in fact, the result of sun exposure[2], and not simply the result of exposure to the wind. Thus treatment and prevention of windburn and sunburn are basically identical.
