The zagavory or zagowory (from Eastern Slavic govor: - speech), in Slavic mythology are the verbal spells that were used the most effectively by folk magicians in their methods of spell work. They also used the whispers that were said to enchant objects. Verbal spells were burned or sent to the winds.
