Zeroville is an upcoming American comedy-drama film directed by James Franco, based on the 2007 novel of the same name by Steve Erickson. The film stars Franco, Seth Rogen, Jacki Weaver, Megan Fox, Will Ferrell and Danny McBride. Filming began on October 24, 2014, in Los Angeles.

Plot

A young seminarian who worships film arrives in Hollywood in 1969, during a transitional time in the Industry.

Production

In March 2011, the novel by Steve Erickson was optioned by actor James Franco for a feature film. On October 24, 2014, the ensemble cast joined the film, which includes Seth Rogen, Jacki Weaver, Megan Fox, Will Ferrell, Danny McBride, Dave Franco, Craig Robinson, Joey King and Horatio Sanz.[1]

Filming

The principal photography of the film began on October 24, 2014, in Los Angeles, California.[2] Filming also took place in Pasadena in November.[2]

Release

On September 12, 2015, it was announced Alchemy had acquired U.S distribution rights to the film and will release it in 2016.[3] However, as of May 2017, the film remains unreleased, and trailers for the film have been removed from the Internet.
