Zexi Li (born 2000 or 2001) is a Canadian public servant who lives in Ottawa and who was the lead complainant in a class action lawsuit against the Canada convoy protestors.

Early life and education

Li moved with her parents from China to Canada at the age of two years.[1] Her family initially moved to Scarborough before her parents divorced, one moving to downtown Toronto, the other to Montreal.[1]

Li attended the University of Ottawa, where she initially studied commerce and accounting, later changing to business technology management.[1]

Career

Since graduation,[1] Li has worked as a Government of Canada public servant,[2] and previously worked as a concierge in two residential high rise buildings in Ottawa.[1]

Personal life

During the Canada convoy protest, Li lived in a high rise building in the centre of Ottawa.[2] Li was the lead complainant in a 2022 class action lawsuit that was served on Canada convoy protestors to prohibit them from sounding vehicle horns.[3]

In March 2022, Li was given the City Builder award by the Mayor of Ottawa, Jim Watson.[4]

On 14th October 2022, Li testified at the Public Order Emergency Comission, and spoke of how the noise of the protest interrupted the sleep and lives of Ottawa's residents,[2] and the harassment she encountered from protestors.[5]

Li was 21 years old in 2022.[6]
