Typical hats from the Cameroon Grassfields, in the Northwest Province. The examples shown are from the Nso ethnic group and were made by the craftsman Shufay Ntoh Rong Mbam from Kumbo in 2003. Summary[edit]

Zwei typische Kopfbedeckungen aus dem Kameruner Grasland. Die beiden abgebildeten Exemplare stammen aus dem Nordwesten Kameruns, aus Nso, und wurden von dem Kunsthandwerker Shufay Ntoh Rong Mbam aus der Ortschaft Kumbo im Jahr 2003 hergestellt. Bei der farbigen Mütze handelt es sich um ein einfaches und typisches Modell. Die schwarz- weisse Mütze hingegen ist durch ihre Farbgebung der Ngwerong Gesellschaft, einem Männerbund, zuzuordnen. Sie ist mit einer Vielzahl kleiner, umstrickter Holzstäbchen geschmückt, was den Träger als hochrangiges Mitglied der Gesellschaft ausweist.
