couple things[edit]

1. There is some potential confusion of the first Niklaus with his son as both men were artists. Below, the painting from HRMD is not from the half brother, but the son!

2. The Deutsch is commonly used for all this family and they signed using the D, also. This should be explained in article. Also, the title should be how they are commonly recognized (with the Deutsch), then the detailed explanation about the Alleman and all that later.

When I click the Wikimedia Commons link, it takes me to Category:Niklaus Manuel Deutsch I, which doesn't exist.

Category:Niklaus Manuel, which does exist, is what it should point to, but I don't know how to edit this page's source to fix it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mabrndt (talkcontribs) 14:58, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Common name[edit]

All the Google hits and art history books use the Deutsch name for Niklaus (and same with his sons). We should use his commonly used name that people refer to him nowadays per WP some policy or other. I am moving page so that it matches common usage. BTW, check out the painting in our top spot...it is signed NMD.TCO (talk) 20:51, 5 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
