Expansion[edit]

I've changed the scope and format of the template because as it existed, it was incorrect. The heading previously gave the indication that the topics were rapid transit and commuter rail in Chicago. Under this, there should only be a few pages (the 'L', Metra, South Shore Line, and agencies). However, as it existed there were other articles included in the template, presumably for the sake of tying Chicago public transit articles together. This led to several errors. 1) The Chicago City Railway, Surface Lines, North Shore Line, the Chicago Aurora & Elgin, and the Fox River Line were not either "rapid transit" or "commuter rail." 2) The Fox River Line was not in Chicago.

To accommodate the existing articles, I expanded the scope of modes to rail transit, and expanded the catchment area to the Chicago metropolitan area. This satisfied all of the existing articles and necessitated the additions of others. While more could be added, I have only included those which currently have pages.
