Endangered Species is a Canadian animated children's television series created by Asaph Fipke, produced by Nerd Corps Entertainment and distributed internationally by DHX Media for Teletoon.[1] The series focuses on a bunny rabbit named Pickle, a red squirrel named Merl, and a seagull named Gull who might not be able to do so. In fact, they are animals who are now endangered species, in the Stump, a fictional tree stump in the middle of the park.
The series premiered on March 3, 2015, and aimed for kids ages 6–11. The final episode aired on June 2, 2015. 26 episodes were produced.
Synopsis[edit]
The series follows Pickle, an adventurous, young bunny rabbit, Merl, a cautious, but smart red squirrel and Gull, a slow-witted, but lovable seagull who work together in a stump in the middle of a park. They make a deal with some adventures, extinctions and dangers.

- Pinky "Pickle" Bunny (voiced by Tabitha St. Germain) is a cuddly, cute, fun and adventurous yellow bunny rabbit who loves to go on wild adventures.
- Merlin "Merl" Squirrel (voiced by Sam Vincent) is a Mexican-American red squirrel who is cautious, strict, short-tempered, no-nonsense, and smart. He speaks with a Spanish accent and he hates them with Gull. Merl has a doll named Nutty Buddy.
- Gulli "Gull" Seagull (voiced by Lee Tockar) is a white and gray seagull who is slow-witted and extremely unintelligent but lovable.
Recurring[edit]
- Schlitzy (voiced by Lee Tockar) is an evil half-eaten corncob who found it by Gull.
- Dilly is Pickle's evil cousin.
- The Moles were Merl's worst fear and his worst enemy ever.
- The Sasquatch is a friend of Pickle and Gull, however Merl will not like him.
- Nutty Buddy is Merl's peanut-shaped doll.
Production[edit]
The original idea for the series was conceived in 2010 and was centered more heavily around themes of environmentalism than the finished product. Among some other differences was that the character Merl was not present in the original draft, and the names and appearances of the other two main characters were different from the final version.[2]

Telecast and home media[edit]
Endangered Species premiered on Teletoon on March 3, 2015 with the final episode aired on June 2, 2015.
In the United Kingdom, the series airs on CBBC, where it premiered on July 13, 2015.[5]
The series also aired on other channels such as Gulli in Russia, PLUSPLUS in Ukraine, Disney Channel in Germany, Teletoon+ in Poland, France 3 and France 4 in France, K2 and Frisbee in Italy, MBC 3 in Arab World, Super7 and Clan in Spain, Cartoon Network, Ketnet in Belgium and TV2 Kids in Hungary. The series aired on TV5 Monde, Megamax and Nickelodeon as well.
The show is currently available on Tubi (in Spanish audio track only) in the United States and on Stan in Australia.
