Is it also true that the Milnor K-ring mod 2 is isomorphic as a ring to Galois cohomology ring?

Yes, because the Galois symbol is a ring homomorphism. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.21.23.202 (talk) 20:25, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nowadays (in 2010), there is a unified proof of both results. As a result, the "Milnor Conjecture" is to be viewed as just the special case of the Norm Residue Theorem. So I vote yes, that these two entries should be merged.

Proposed merge[edit]

Given that the norm residue isomorphism theorem was announced to have a complete proof last year, this page could usefully be merged into that one: the result is now a special case of the theorem. Charles Matthews (talk) 10:31, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Add disambiguation[edit]

There are at least 3 different things named "Milnor conjecture". My proposal is to disambiguate this one using parentheses, and use the non-disambiguated name for a redirect to Milnor conjecture (disambiguation). Викидим (talk) 01:54, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
